Sherry Caramelized Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. olive oil

  • 1 tbsp. butter

  • 2 lbs. onions, thinly sliced

  • 1/3 cup Sheffield Very Dry Sherry

  • 3/4 tsp. kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper

 
 

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions; cook 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook until light amber-colored, about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Stir in sherry, salt, and pepper. Increase heat to medium; cook until liquid is absorbed, about 3 minutes.
